COLUMBUS IPA

IPA recipe from Columbus Brewing Company in Columbus, Ohio.

Columbus IPA was my first batch of home-brewed beer. The Columbus IPA replica is a pale orange tint with a balanced malt presence. The Pacific Northwest grown hops finishes with a combination of grapefruit, pine, and tropical fruit notes.

5 Gallon Ingredients:

9lbs Ultralight Malt Extract (LME)

12lbs All-Grain 2-Row

3lbs Speciality Malt

4oz Columbus Hops

Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 5.88%

International Bitterness Units (IBU): 62-66

BELGIAN WHITE ALE

Similar to the prominent wheat ales - Blue Moon and Shock Top

The Belgian-styled Witbier is herbally spiced with coriander and orange zest. Light and refreshing. One of my personal favorites for the summertime.

7lbs Bavarian Wheat Malt Extract (LME)

6lbs All-Grain 2-Row

5lbs White Wheat

1lbs Flaked Speciality Oats

1oz Mittelfruh Hops

2oz Sweet Orange Peel

3g Coriander Powder

Alcohol by Volume (ABV):

International Bitterness Units (IBU): 10-25
